I have cut out the base and I am mounting the skull. 1/4 inch bolts are used to attach the skull to a bloodwood shield.

A liver of sulphur base patina was applied, followed by a ferric nitrate patina. The ferric nitrate is a hot patina and is applied to a sculpture warm enough so that the liquid mists off when it is applied.

The bloodwood shield is finished with Tung oil.

The final mounting, except for the lower brass name plate, “Hunting Dinosaurs”.
