Taking Three as the number to reason about –
A convenient number to state –
We add Seven, and Ten, and then multiply out
By One Thousand diminished by Eight. The result we proceed to divide, as you see,

Description

This work is titled “Alice’s Conundrum”.

This work shows a 1:8 scale bronze cast figurine where Alice is standing and holding a favorite bunny, She is clearly mixed up in a parody between the Wizard of Oz and Alice in Wonderland. This figure is custom made from solid bronze. My castings are all hot cast using a lost wax process.

This figure is cast in a bronze made from copper and tin known as Ancient bronze. Her hair and toy bunny are cast in a yellow brass. Her apron and bunny ears are cast from a white bronze alloy that looks like silver.

Alice is standing on the beginnings of the yellow brick road from the Wizard of Oz. An Archimedes spiral is used for the road and the shape is cut from sheet copper and brass. Alice is looking out at an etched brass replica of the Queen of Hearts and a dark patina copper witch’s hat overlaying a pair of silver colored shoes made from a white bronze alloy.

Two bronze cast trees are fabricated from pine cones and are used to represent foliage.

The work is made by hand. The figurine and all accessories are pinned and mounted on a natural hand cut circular granite base.
