What comes to mind when you imagine the daughters of a god holding the moon and a shiny planet-like ball in the sky?

This piece was inspired by PKking and his Yan Wu sculpture. Yan Wu became a god due to his valour and achievements. His daughters have special skills that serve to protect the realm. One learned how to use the Yan Wang Sword and the other learned the skill of Yan’s witchcraft.

Description

The two figures in this piece are cast from a natural bronze alloy of copper and tin. A yellow brass alloy was used for the skirts and hair.

A ferric nitrate patina was used to colour the girl’s clothing.

The figure holding the ball had nickle plate applied to her stockings.

The moon is cast from yellow brass. The sword piercing the moon was cast from silicon bronze and given a black patina that was burnished to show the embossed design on the sword.

Embellishments were cast from white bronze.

The ball is made from aqua rose quartz.

The amethyst comes from Sidi Rahal, Morocco.

The base is made from walnut and finished with Tung oil.
