Description

This is a sculpture of a heroic bronze age woman that some might recognize from Amazon mythology.

She is my replication of someone who is equally at home with a sword and cooking. The contrast of the sword and a cooking pot caught my sense of fancy.

This sculpture came about because of the exceptional cave type setting of the Moroccan amethyst geode and the fact that I am working in bronze.

This version of a bronze age woman was cast in natural bronze. Her sword is cast in silicon bronze and plated in nickel. The pot was fabricated from brass and copper. This is a sister sculpture to Spiegelbild im Spiegel.

The natural bronze contains 90% copper and tin. The silicon bronze contains 95% Cu, 4% Si, 1% Mn.
