Description

The Girls und Panzer is a popular anime series about tank battles. Schools conduct battles among themselves in a tournament.

This casting shows the top of a German Panzer IV tank.

The tank turret is a solid cast using a silicon bronze. A liver of sulphur patina has been applied to give the tank a dark and weathered texture.

The 1:35 scale schoolgirls are solid cast from a yellow brass alloy. The schoolgirls were originally soldered to the tank using a low temperature tin based silver bearing solder, but now I use a high temperature brazing type silver solder.

The tank turret has been mounted on a custom fabricated white marble base. It can also be mounted on a dark granite or marble base.

The silicon bronze contains 95% Cu, 4% Si, 1% Mn. The yellow brass has 63% copper, 1% lead, and various amounts of zinc and tin.
