This work shows a 1:8 scale bronze cast figurine of Alice in Wonderland, holding her toy bunny close to her chest.

This is a single version of Alice. I have also used this figurine in an artwork I call Alice's Conundrum, where I have mixed her up in a Wizard of Oz setting.

Description

This work shows a 1:8 scale bronze cast figurine of Alice in Wonderland. This figure is custom made from solid bronze using a lost wax process.

This figure is cast in a natural bronze made from copper and tin. Her hair and toy bunny are cast in a yellow brass. Her apron and bunny ears are cast from a white bronze alloy that looks like silver.

This piece is mounted on a custom made hexagonal piece of white marble.

The white bronze includes 58% copper, 1% lead and various amounts of manganese, zinc and aluminum. The natural bronze contains copper and tin. The yellow brass has 63% copper, 1% lead, and various amounts of zinc and tin.
