Description

This is a solid bronze casting of Black Widow from the Avengers.

This figure is cast from a silicon bronze. The body, legs, hands and head are cast separately and soldered together. Her hair is cast in a white bronze which subsequently has the copper raised to give it a wonderful red color.

Her gun is cast in silicon bronze.  The sighting telescope is cast in white bronze.

The figure is mounted on a naturally oxidized solid cast bronze fence and a marble base. She is covered with a heat cured decorative enamel that is virtually equivalent to hard-fired enamel. Her boots are opaque but her costume is a little thinner to allow the underlying metallic bronze to partially show.

The white bronze includes 58% copper, 1% lead and various amounts of manganese, zinc and aluminum. The silicon bronze contains 95% Cu, 4% Si, 1% Mn. The yellow brass has 63% copper, 1% lead, and various amounts of zinc and tin.
