This cello was cast in silicon bronze. Yellow brass was used for the instrument stand.
A ferric nitrate patina was applied.
The base is made from semi-transparent onyx.

I play the cello. It was important for me to cast a bronze cello as a gift to Alice Purton, the cellist that recorded the first ever performance of my great uncle’s Sonata in C for Violoncello and Pianoforte (1918).
