Over the last few months I have been creating new sculptures for my upcoming Art Market show at the Telus Convention Centre November 17-20, 2022.
My work has transitioned to larger and more complex sculpture. Two of my new sculptures are based on dolphins and the other two are based on a cast of Lilith, a she-demon who was the first wife of Adam before being banished from the Garden of Eden.
I have been spending quite some time to rework these pieces to ensure they are flawless. Casting bronze is fraught with risk. Often surface flaws will appear on the cast work. These can be pinholes, investment inclusions, shrinkage cracks, pits, and so on. Sometimes the camera will show flaws that are invisible to the naked eye.
I have taken the time to highly polish these works and repair the stone since these pictures were taken.
A few more new sculptures are still pending for my Art Market show in 3 more weeks.
